How to write a cruise ship CV with no sea experience
Choose a role you can support with evidence
Start with one target role. Hotel housekeeping can support a cabin-steward application; restaurant work can support a waiter application. Read the actual vacancy before deciding which experience to highlight.
Translate duties, not job titles
Keep your real job title, employer and dates. Explain relevant duties such as serving guests, cleaning rooms or preparing food. Do not rename a land-based job to suggest you have worked aboard a ship.
Use a factual summary
Describe the experience you have, the role you want and the languages you can use at work. Avoid unsupported labels such as expert or fluent. A short specific summary is more useful than a long list of personal qualities.
Check the application requirements separately
A CV does not replace required training or documentation. Requirements vary by role and employer. Mark qualifications accurately and follow the vacancy's instructions before applying.
